US State Department spokesman: All efforts to stop any attempt to ban Israel from playing the World Cup
This week, UN consulting experts urged the football world and European governing bodies to impose a complete ban on Israeli teams. FIFA has not responded to the UN Special Rapporteur, and Israel is still striving to qualify for the World Cup, which will be held primarily in the United States next year.
