Per-Sports: Barcelona hopes to return to Camp Nou in the fourth round of La Liga and catch up with the Champions League stage
Spanish Daily Sports reported that only a few days before the start of La Liga, Barcelona's goal is to return to the Camp Nou in the fourth round of La Liga match against Valencia.
The new look of Camp Nou is taking shape. This Friday, the 2025/26 La Liga season will officially kick off, and Barcelona hopes to complete the entire season's home game in this blue and red temple. Although the club is fully committed to promoting the project, the club has not issued any official announcements yet. Therefore, while the project is constantly advancing, everyone can only wait for the news.
The inspection work during the construction process is also underway. Recently, the latest engineering evaluation report from the European Club Association (ECA) has been disclosed. According to Catalonian radio station RAC1, more than 200 problems were found in this test. However, according to sources from the Mass Consulting, most problems are just small problems common in these routine checks and are easy to solve.
But time is still tight, and Barcelona hopes to reopen the stadium to the public in the fourth round of La Liga against Valencia after the national team match day on September 13 and 14.
It is also worth noting that the Champions League will also start next month. UEFA stipulates that all teams' matches during the league stage must be played on the same stadium. So if Flick's team's first Champions League game fails to be held at Camp Nou, then Barcelona will be forced to use other venues throughout the league stage.
Barcelona's new facilities are becoming increasingly apparent. A few weeks ago, the permanent lawn to be used by Barcelona this season has been laid, and now the stadium’s markings (sideline, penalty area line and center line) have also been delineated.
In addition, the bench and corresponding technical areas are being built, and the design style is similar to before. On the other hand, the seats in the VIP area have been installed, and the construction of the fans cheering for the stands is coming to an end.
Although the specific time to return to the home court is still unknown, Barcelona City Hall approved the stadium to be opened in stages last week. Barcelona Deputy Mayor Jordi Valls confirmed that as the project progresses, the city hall will gradually issue first-time use permits so that Barcelona can return to the brand new blue-red fortress.
