MiType: Tudor s high-consumption gameplay allows players to expose their physical fitness during Wednesday matches

Football

Recently, "Mi Sports" talked about Juventus' physical fitness problems. They said that the high-consuming game method required by coach Tudor has exposed the team's physical fitness inadequateness in the event of Wednesday games.

In Verona's game against Juventus, in the 52nd minute, Akpro dribbled the ball and pushed about 40 meters after receiving the ball in his half. Kevren Toulam started from at least one meter ahead of his opponent, but was thrown away at the start and then kept chasing but failed to catch up.

This clearly reflects that Juventus faced physical fitness problems after only five games. Head coach Tudor warned after his Champions League debut against Dortmund: "Ilditz was pale and should replace him at halftime, and Tulam was also very tired." He also admitted after the game against Verona: "We lack energy."

What is the reason for this physical collapse? Especially if this happens in the first Wednesday game this season, what will happen in the future? This is to trace the root cause of Juventus' physical difficulties, and first of all, it is necessary to go back a few months ago: the Club World Cup lasted until early July, forcing Juventus to give players only three weeks off (the minimum standard) and had to complete all preparations within one month.

In contrast, Milan has a 44-day holiday and starts training 17 days in advance. Rome has a 49-day holiday and resumes training on July 13. Naples has a 53-day holiday and resumes training on July 15. Additionally, due to time tight, Tudor and his coaching team had to do more high-intensity anaerobic training to ensure the team had enough physical strength in their first game against Parma and not enough time to focus on endurance training.

So, in the initial friendly matches (versus Dortmund and Atlanta) and in the first two league games, the team did a great job, but when faced with the first Wednesday game, the problems were exposed.

The second issue is involved here: the high-consuming game method required by the coach and the construction of the team lineup. Tudor needs a team that runs at full speed and goes all out. In the first four rounds of Serie A, Juventus had the most running distances among several strong teams: an average of 116.5 kilometers per game, while Inter Milan is about 115 kilometers, AC Milan is 113 kilometers, and Rome is 112 kilometers.

In this style of play, the most difficult ones are four midfielders and two front midfielders. However, if you look at Juventus' lineup, you will find a contradiction: there are only two main players in the midfield (Locatelli and Toulam), because Kuppmenas, Azic, McKennie and Mireti cannot replace them for various reasons.

In the midfield position, Ilditz and Concesan have no real replacements before waiting for Gegrova to find good form. Having Oponda or David on the field will force Tudor to change his formation, which he is unwilling to do. Therefore, Tulam and Ilditz have to play almost every game, which ultimately leads to their "collapse" and Kongseisan has already suffered a muscle injury. The upcoming Wednesday match (versus Atlanta, Villarreal and AC Milan) has sounded the alarm.
