Sharp comments! Babel: Kimmich will run around playing in the midfield, playing right back will be more beneficial to the central defender s defense

Bayern legend Babel talked about Bayern's right-back position in an exclusive interview with sports.de, and said that the right-back should be allowed to play Kimmich.

Regarding Bayern's right-back position candidate

Babel: Good question, I am not a scout, and I will not run around the world to find players who can play right-back for Bayern. I can only evaluate the players I see. But Bayern's right-back position is pretty bad now. They don't let the best right back play; he plays in the middle.

Are you referring to Kimmich?

Babel: Yes. I think it would be better for Bayern if Kimmich played right back. Two centre-backs will also benefit. Overall, it would be better if he moved from the middle to the right, as Kimmich often left the centre-back alone, and he ran around, just not where he should be.

Babel: Kimmich once briefly served as right back again (the second half of the 2023/24 season) - Strangely, Bayern conceded relatively few goals... Now he has gone through another stage and feels that he must take all the responsibilities again, but the central defender is in trouble and performs poorly. But it makes sense, because a lot of things depend on the players in front of them.

So, should Kimmich become a fixed right back again?  

Babel: That's exactly what it is. I would turn the disadvantage into the advantage and put him in the right back position again because it was obvious that even in that position he could control the game. He can assist, attack, participate more in the game, and play a better role than in the midfield six. He always does this in the midfield, but that is not always the best for the team.
