Roma is looking for a new home for captain Lorenzo Pellegrini, asking for about 10 million euros

According to the "Roman Sports", Rome is looking for a next home for Lorenzo Pellegrini.

Rome has entrusted two international intermediaries to find a new owner overseas for Lorenzo Pellegrini. They are tempting in multiple leagues to see if any clubs are interested in the Roma midfielder.

Although Gasperini is not entirely optimistic about Pellegrini's role in his tactical system, he still has the captain's armband. Pellegrini is still recovering from injury and is expected to return by the end of August.

West Ham and Besiktas both expressed interest to Pellegrini, but the player himself did not consider it. He still tended to stay in Rome, striving to go all out in the next few months, and then decided with the club in the winter window whether to renew the contract or find another way out.

The deal will help Roma cash out immediately and avoid letting Pellegrini leave the team freely after the contract expires in June next year. Sports director Masala hopes to earn about €10 million from the deal, which will be net profit. At the same time, the club can also remove the total salary burden of nearly €11 million this season from the books.

This not only facilitates transfer operations, but also helps the club meet the financial requirements of the last season of the "settlement agreement" under Fiscal Fair Competition (FFP). From Masala's perspective, if Cone and Pellegrini can be sold, the agreement between them and UEFA can be resolved in advance without waiting until June next year to rush to create book profits.

Therefore, Roma is looking for buyers who have both the financial resources to invest in Pellegrini and attract the players themselves. Pellegrini's goal against Lazio in January was once regarded as a turning point, and even once pulled him from the brink of joining Napoli. But that goal didn't really bring him back to the main position. Later, he suffered another injury, and the new coach has not yet decided whether he is more suitable to play as a back midfielder or a front midfielder, especially considering Pellegrini's sluggish state last season.

Pellegrini will try to train partially in Trigoria base in the next week to test tendon recovery after surgery and to assess all stages of returning to the field. He will still train as hard as he used to, while waiting for further news from the club and his agent.

He himself does not want to leave the team, but if the offer from Italy or England is attractive enough, he will have to think seriously.
