Official: Naples introduced false accounts for Osimhen and others, and the Rome court decided to prosecute

The trial judge of the Rome Court has decided to prosecute Naples Chairman De Laurentiis, accusing him of false financial behavior in the 2019, 2020 and 2021 annual financial reports. In addition, the judge also decided to prosecute Chiavelli, the German's right-hand man, and Naples Football Club together.

So-called false financial behavior:

Naples introduced Manolas from Roma in the summer of 2019 and sent Diawara to Roma in the transaction. Naples introduced Osimhen from Lille in the summer of 2020, and sent goalkeeper Karnezis and three youth training players to Lille. Prosecutors believe that the valuation of these additional players was artificially inflated by Naples.

According to the prosecution, in these two transactions, Naples used false surplus operations to "adjust" the club's financial statements.

But at the sports level, Naples has not been punished in any way. Italian Football Association prosecutor Chine has closed the case in 2022. The investigative documents have been sent to the Federal Prosecutor's Office, but the court has not reopened the sports case, so Napoli's sports case remains on file. But now the case has been restarted, and the trial will begin on December 2, 2026.
