Kumingga: It s easy to build chemistry when playing with Butler, but it feels weird to sign a new contract
Today, Warriors forward Kumingga returned to the team for training and accepted media interviews. Xiaoba compiled some of the interviews as follows:
Reporter: Jonathan, what did you learn from playing with Jimmy in the series against Minnesota? Do you think there is the entire training camp and preseason time now, how can you cooperate with each other?
Kuminga: I think it is very important for us to be here now, and it is all very important to try to get to know each other. I feel like we did in that series. You know, playing with Jimmy is easy to build up chemistry, and we have more opportunities to sit and communicate. I can ask him some questions, such as what kind of playing style he likes, because I can't tell at all that this will not work. I feel like there is so much time together, plus I keep healthy, he keeps healthy, and everyone is training, I can play a role in it and help us figure out something in the training.
Reporter: Hey, Jonathan, obviously, your contract is a life-changing money. I want to know how your family reacted when you signed this contract.
Kuminga: I won't say I'm worried, nor am I worried. It's more like a strange feeling. For me, playing basketball is more exciting than anything else. They all surrounded me, hoping that I could laugh, be happy, and do something that showed excitement. But that's not my character. But it means a lot to me to see them so excited, to see my family, my parents so happy. I'm glad I've been able to witness that scene and get myself into that situation. Things like this are what really make me happy. You know, it's just about seeing the family happy.
Reporter: How did you feel when you train today?
Kuminga: I think it's very good, really good. I feel that I have made a lot of progress, and I have improved on both offense and defense. Because I have seen and experienced some situations, people used to think that I was just thinking about offense and so on, but you know, I will keep getting better on the offense. But even on the defensive end, like I said, I've been playing in this league until my fifth year. I'm looking at the problem differently now. As time goes by, I will keep getting better in some things. I feel like I'm ready to go. It may take a little while because I haven't really fought too much this summer. But so far, you know, today I feel like I'm trying to keep up with my teammates, but it still takes some time to be fully in place.
